The Town Engineer is responsible for the following:

 

·         Planning Board

-     Review of Plans

-     Inspection of Construction

·         Roads & Drainage

-     Investigation of complaints with respect to roads and drainage

-     Design of roads and drainage

·         Water Districts

-     The Town of Carmel administers eleven (11) water districts throughout the Town of Carmel as follows:

      Carmel Water District #1            Hamlet of Mahopac

      Carmel Water District #2            Hamlet of Carmel

      Carmel Water District #3            Lake Secor

      Carmel Water District #4            Lake Baldwin

      Carmel Water District #5            Maple Terrace

      Carmel Water District #6            Shell Valley, Tomahawk Creek

      Carmel Water District #7            Ivy Hills

      Carmel Water District #8            Mahopac Ridge

      Carmel Water District #9            Mahopac Hills – Simone

      Carmel Water District #10           Lakeview Park

      These districts are operated under contract by either Severn Trent Environmental Services (STE), Bee & Jay Plumbing & Heating (B&J) or William Droese (BD) as follows:

-    These phone numbers are 24 hour numbers that can be used to report emergencies.  Also, the Town Police may be called in an emergency at 628-1300.

 

-    For questions, complaints, or concerns regarding any water system, you may call the Town Engineer’s office at 628-1500 or 628-2087 during normal working hours, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.

 

-     For billing questions regarding the water systems, you may call the Comptroller's Office at 628-1500 Ext. 175.

 

·         Sewer Districts

 

-     The Town of Carmel administers eight (8) sewer districts throughout the Town of Carmel as follows:

      Carmel Sewer District #1 & #3– Hamlet of Mahopac

      Carmel Sewer District #2 – Hamlet of Carmel

      Carmel Sewer District #4 – Lake Secor

      Carmel Sewer District #5 – Hillsdale

      Carmel Sewer District #6 – Ivy Hills

      Carmel Sewer District #7 – Buckshollow

      Carmel Sewer District #8 – Stoneleigh Ave., Putnam Hospital

 

·         These districts are operated under contract by STE.  The contact person is Joe Sagnis at (845) 490-3046.
