The Mission of the Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee is to provide leadership in coordinating and conducting constructive recreational activities to contribute to the development of personality, creativity, self-expression, self-discovery and acquisition of new skills for the maximum benefit of all citizens in the Town of Carmel.  The Committee also makes decisions regarding maintenance and development of existing parks, while identifying and planning for future park land in the Town as a means of meeting current needs and future demands of all citizens within the town, building and sustaining to the utmost the Town of Carmel parks system, with the purpose of making the Town of Carmel a better place to live.

The Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee consists of up to 12 members, which meet the first Thursday of every month, 7:30 p.m., at Sycamore Park.  In addition, there are two "Open" meetings held per year, one in April and one in October.  All meetings are subject to change due to holidays, weather, etc.  Please check the Town website Community Events Calendar for agenda details.

Please contact James R. Gilchrist, Recreation and Parks Department Director, at the above address/phone number with any questions.
